Meet T Shreya Reddy, a 23-year-old resident of Hyderabad, Telangana. Coming from an academically oriented and conservative family, she recently completed her undergraduate studies, earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree, now proudly calling herself a doctor. Beyond her professional pursuits, Shreya has a diverse range of hobbies including dancing, reading books of various genres, and painting. Despite the challenges she faced during her adolescence, grappling with the absence of a loving father and navigating social stigmas associated with her hormonal changes and body hair, she persevered, demonstrating resilience and strength, especially in maintaining her mental health at a young, tender age.
Contesting for India’s Miss TGPC Season-12 against 50 other girls from across India and beyond, T Shreya is ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and advocacy, all while showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of India.
TGPC: What motivated you to participate in India’s Miss TGPC?
Shreya: As I already mentioned in my winning speech for TGPC’s TTOM a year ago, I couldn’t participate in Season 11 of India’s Miss TGPC as I was in the end and important stage of pursuing my graduation journey. I felt defeated for not being able to a part of something that I love. I went through the back stories of India’s Miss TGPC winners and reinforced myself that I always another chance. I picked courage and I’m here today feeling blessed.
TGPC: Why do you believe you are deserving of the India’s Miss TGPC title?
Shreya: In this era of Generation-Z, where the world is becoming an all-inclusive one, I believe that I can create a positive impact in our community through this platform and most importantly encourage girls like me to chase after their dreams and I am committed to doing so whether I win or lose.
TGPC: Looking towards the future, what are your plans, both with and without the crown?
Shreya: With the crown, I envision leveraging the platform to advocate for causes close to my heart such as promoting right dietary practices among children and gender equity in making choices etc. I aim to use my influence to effect meaningful change and inspire others to join me in making a difference. Without the crown, I remain motivated to do whatever I want to endeavor in my life. Because for me, “To win is just a desire not an agenda whereas making a difference is”.

TGPC: Growing up, what would you say was your biggest challenge?
Shreya: My biggest challenge growing up would be to tackle my mental health issues that came from my family, hormonal issues and for choosing to venture myself into this, I had to convince my mom that I’m confident about what I want to further do and make her believe in me was nothing short of a challenge too.
TGPC: Beyond winning, what aspect of India’s Miss TGPC are you most excited about?
Shreya: The one most important thing that I’m excited about India’s Miss TGPC is the fact that I get to speak to people who stood as an inspiration to me all along and to learn things that I haven’t learned before is keeping me excited.
TGPC: As an aspiring winner of India’s Miss TGPC, what legacy do you aspire to leave behind?
Shreya: As an aspiring winner of India’s Miss TGPC, my ultimate goal is to leave behind a legacy of empowerment, kindness, and love for all. I want to be remembered as someone who used their voice to uplift others, break down barriers, and create opportunities for those who are disadvantaged. I believe that my legacy will be defined by the lives I touch, be it one or many, and leaving a lasting imprint of hope for future generations to come.

TGPC: Could you share with us the causes or issues that you are particularly passionate about, and how do you intend to utilize this platform to create an impact?
Shreya: The issues that concern me the most are the false or unnecessary beauty standards that the world is seeing today regardless of the gender. I intend to utilize this platform to bring awareness about the concept of true beauty and that it is essential to understand that health and fitness come before the external beauty norms.
TGPC: Is there any message you’d like to convey to those reading this?
Shreya: To those reading this, I just wanna say “let the society judge you and your dreams, let them think they are impossible to achieve for someone like you, let them say anything”. But you do not judge yourself, your heart knows what it wants and go chase it like you need air to breathe.
