Redefining Beauty and Breaking Stereotypes: Andreia Muhitu crowned as Miss Supranational Angola 2018

Andreia Muhitu was crowned as the winner of Miss Supranational Angola 2018. She is 22 years old and will now compete at Miss Supranational 2018 coming December in Poland. Her victory has broken all the stereotypes about having a particular model for accepting a beauty queen. She is suffering from Albinism and is probably the first ever such contestant to be representing her country at an International pageant.

While it is a wonderful decision by organisation to encourage and empower Muhitu by providing such a wonderful chance to represent Angola at Miss Supranational pageant, critics did come up with negative comments on her pictures. However, her positive response totally justified why she is a woman of strong character. Her response was as below,

“Appearances are deceiving. I like the picture, it’s me! I have strabismus, people have strabismus. And if I have it in the picture I must have loved it. I will not be the world’s first cross eyed model. You are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine and mine says it all… I wouldn’t compete if I didn’t believe I could win.”

It would be really interesting to follow her journey at Miss Supranational 2018 and see how she fares in the contest. What do you think?
