Yulia Polyachikhina wins Miss Russia 2018
Yulia Polyachikhina defeated 49 other contestants to win the title of Miss Russia 2018. Grand-finale of the pageant took place on Saturday, 14th of April 2018 at Barvikha Luxury Village in Moscow. Polina Popova, Miss Russia 2017 crowned Yulia as her successor. Yulia Polyachikhina will now represent Russia at the Miss World 2018 pageant in Sanya, China where she will try to succeed India’s Manushi Chhillar as the next Miss World. Violetta Tyurkina bagged the first runner-up crown and will most probably represent Russia at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant later this year. Where she will try to succeed South Africa’s Demi Leigh Nel Peters as the next Miss Universe. Natalya Stroyeva was awarded the second runner-up crown. Yulia stands 5’9.5″ tall and is mere 18 years old. She represented the province of Chuvashia in the pageant. Maxim Privalov and Vera Krasova co-hosted the pageant.
Miss Russia pageant started in the year 1992 since then the country has produced 2 Miss World, winners i.e, Miss World 1992, Julia Kourotchkina Miss World 2008, Ksenia Sukhinova who won the title in Johannesburg, South Africa.Sofia Nikitchuk Miss Russia 2015 won the first runner-up title at Miss World 2015. Oxana Fedorova is the only Russsian woman to win the Miss Universe crown in the year 2002 but unfortunately, she was dethroned a few months later.
