Jamie Hughes defeated 16 other contestants to win the title of Miss Connecticut USA 2018. Grand finale of Miss Connecticut USA 2018 took place on Saturday 6th of January 2018 at The Palace Theatre,Stamford. Olga Litvinenko, Miss Connecticut USA 2017 crowned Jamie as her successor. Miss USA 2017, Kara McCullough was special guest at this year’s event. Jamie will now represent the state of Connecticut at the Miss USA 2018 pageant where she will try to succeed Kara McCullough of District of Columbia as the new Miss USA. In the same event Elle Saul won Miss Connecticut Teen USA 2018 pageant she will compete at this year’s Miss Teen USA pageant. Samantha Sojka bagged the first runner-up crown where as Azria Rountree was crowned as the second runner-up. Samantha Lusniak & Amber Walker were awarded with the third and fourth runner-up crown respectively. Erin Brady is the only Miss Connecticut to win the Miss USA title she was crowned Miss USA in 2013. Connecticut has 2 first runner-ups crown courtesy of Diane Zabicki in 1962 and Pat Denne in 1966. Alita Dawson Miss Connecticut USA 2002 was fourth runner-up at Miss USA 2002 besides these placements Connecticut has placed only six times at the Miss USA pageant.

24-years-old Jamie hails from Stamford. She studied Communications at Old Dominion University. Jamie is a Fit model at True Models and has worked with brands like Jovani fashion. Jamie wants to use the Miss Connecticut USA platform to make people realize the importance of acceptance. Jamie is a wish granter at Make a wish foundation. Jamie was Miss Virginia United States 2012 and first competed at Miss Virginia USA pageant in 2015 where she was second runner-up in 2016 she managed to place in the semi-finals and in 2017 she bagged the second runner-up crown at the same pageant.
