Oscars 2017: Best and Worst Dressed

One of the most respected and awaited award shows of the year just came to a conclusion. The Oscars 2017 was definitely interesting because of the obvious controversy but leaving that aside, I want to talk about The Best and Worst Dressed at the function. This year everyone made an appearance worth talking about, some were Fab and some were extremely Drab!

Best Dressed

Oscars 2017
Taraji Henson

Let’s go over some of the fabulous first. Topping my list as the best dressed at The Oscars is Taraji P.Henson. Taraji wore a custom made navy evening gown designed by Alberta Ferretti, I honestly don’t think I could decide what I loved the most, the slit the neckline and the colour was perfection. Taraji styled the beautiful dress with amazing jewellery by Nirav Modi and she completely slayed it.

Oscars 2017
Isabelle Huppert
Next up is Isabelle Huppert, The Elle actress wore a Armani Privé gown and finished the look with Repossi Jewellery. I loved the way the actress carried the dress, the bead work throughout the dress is so elegant and regal while she made an edgy statement with her ear cuff and dark lipstick. This look deserves two thumbs up!
Oscars 2017
Olivia Culpo
Next is none other than Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo, the diva wore a gorgeous fringe dress designed by Marchesa and styled it with Irene Neuwirth jewels. Not only is this gown beautiful but it also comes with a cause which is always a plus point! Through I think the look could have been better without the black belt, but her beautiful and bold eye makeup made up for it.
Oscars 2017
Priyanka Chopra
Miss World 2000 and Global Star, Priyanka Chopra left us all stunned when she walked in wearing a gorgeous structured gown by Ralph & Russo. She kept the look edgy yet feminine styling it with Lorraine Shcwartz Jewellery. I loved that her hair was straight and makeup was minimal.
Oscars 2017
Charlize Theron
Next up is Charlize Theron, The stunning actress wore a gorgeous Dior gown and styled it with Jewellery by Chopard. I loved her look, metallic is definitely in vogue this season and she nailed this look. The look was giving me 80’s Glamour and I loved it, I love the classic hairstyle and minimalist makeup.

Worst Dressed

Oscars 2017
Dakota Johnson
Now coming to some of the not fabulous looks of the Oscars 2017. Let’s start with a look that surprised me so much! Dakota Johnson wore a gold satin gown designed by none other than Gucci. This dress is just bad, The bow is bad, The styling is bad and that’s all I can say, there is nothing else worth saying, This look goes down in my list as one of the worst red carpet looks ever!
Oscars 2017
Janelle Monae
Next is Janelle Monáe, the Moonlight actress wore a Elie Saab Couture gown and paired it with Forevermark jewels. I got taken aback for a moment when I first saw the picture because there is just way too much going on. I think if that poofy over skirt wasn’t there she would’ve survived her first red carpet, sadly that wasn’t the case.
Oscars 2017
Halle Berry
Halle Berry showed up in a Atelier Versace gown and Jewels by Forevermark. With her hair high up in the sky Halle Berry managed surviving the red carpet with ease, but overall this look was just wrong. No wonder she couldn’t wait to take her dress off.
Oscars 2017
Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek is next, this gorgeous actress really fell short during her time on the red carpet, through I don’t mind the sheer black dress designed by Alexander McQueen, the look fell short because of the lack of glamour, the hair was just pulled back with a head band and her makeup was extremely basic. She should have thought about accessorising her look a bit more.
Oscars 2017
Leslie Mann
Leslie Mann wore a bright yellow mustard ball gown designed by Zac Posen and accessorised her look with Lorraine Schwartz Jewellery. This dress just looked like a lot of fabric draped around her, the shade of yellow was just wrong and her hair colour was definitely not on her team.
And that’s that! My favourite and least favourite looks of the Oscars 2017. Thanks for reading!
