Mirka Cabrera is crowned as Miss World Ecuador 2016

Mirka Cabrera (Full name: Mirka Paola Cabrera Mazzini) from Machala has been chosen as Miss World Ecuador 2016.  She succeeds María Camila Marañón Solórzano as Miss World Ecuador.  Mirka will now compete at the prestigious Miss World 2016 pageant.  It will be held in Washington D.C., the United States of America in the month of December 2016.  120+ contestants from around the globe will compete in the beauty festival and one lucky beauty will emerge as the successor of Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna from Spain.

Ecuador at Miss World

Ecuador has placed 4 times in Miss World pageant.  They are participating since 1960 though.  The first placement for Ecuador was achieved by Sofía Virginia Monteverde Nimbriotis in Miss World 1970.  Next placement was achieved by Alicia Gisela Cucalón Macias in Miss World 1986.  She was 6th Runner-up, which is the highest placement of Ecuador in Miss World by far.  Miss World Ecuador 2007 Valeska Alexandra Saab Gómez won ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ award and made it to Top 16.  Last year María Camila Marañón Solórzano made it to the Top 20.
