Dimanthi Edirirathne is Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2016

Dimanthi Edirirathne was crowned  as the winner of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2016 last night. The finale was held at Citrus, Waskaduwa.  She will now represent Sri Lanka at Miss Earth 2016 to be held in Philippines next month. Dimanthi Edirirathne succeeds Visna Fernando as the new Miss Earth Sri Lanka. She defeated 11 other contestants to claim this title.

At the same event, Janani Janadari and Chathu Kaushalya  were declared as first and second runners-up, respectively. Dimanthi Edirirathne hails from Kirulapana and she has completed her High School from Museus College. She is presently first year student at KDU in Logistics Management Land is working as a junior English lecturer.

Reigning Miss Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong and Miss Earth-Water Brittany Payne graced the coronation night as special guests. Sri Lanka has never won Miss Earth crown before.
