Ariadna Gutierrez attends celebration in White House

Miss Universe 2015 1st Runner-up Ariadna Gutierrez from Colombia is attending the celebration of 15th Anniversary of Plan Colombia on 4th February 2016 at White House, the official residence of the American President Mr. Barack Obama.  Plan Colombia was a diplomatic and military agreement between Colombia and the USA to end trafficking of narcotic drugs.  Along with Ariadna, current (Barack Obama and Juan Manuel Santos) and former presidents of the two countries are attending the event.  The agreement was done in 2000 by Bill Clinton and Andres Pastrana who are also attending the event.  Ariadna Gutierrez has said that she wants to work on improving relationship between the two countries in addition to global causes.

Many people on the internet are claiming that Ariadna Gutierrez is more popular than the reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines.  Now we don’t know if this is true, but Pia is also making headlines quite often.  She received the warmest and most amazing welcome that a beauty queen can get when she returned to her country after winning.  Ariadna Gutierrez certainly has got more coverage and success than perhaps any first runner-up in any international pageant.  There was a huge wave of support towards her after the crowning fiasco in Miss Universe finals last year.  Ariadna Gutierrez also received flak from some people for no clear reason, except for insecurity and blind hatred.  Ariadna has said that she wants to become bigger than Miss Universe.  She is definitely on her path.
