Meet Miss Universe Japan 2016 Contestants!!!

Meet the contestants of Miss Universe Japan 2016. Winner of this pageant will represent Japan at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant next year.The winner of the pageant will succeed Ariana Miyamoto Miss Universe Japan 2015 and top 10 at Miss Universe 2015. Finale of Miss Universe Japan will take place in the last week of January.

Japan has produced two Miss Universe winners Akiko Kojima Miss Universe 1959 the first Asian to win Miss Universe crown and Riyo Mori in 2007.Kurara Chibana bagged the only first runner-up crown of the country. Kinuko Ito in 1953 was crowned as second runner-up at that year’s edition of Miss Universe, Jun Shimada in 1970 Mizuho Sakaguchi in 1988 bagged the third runner-up crown for Japan. Kikuyo Osuka (1955) & Miyako Miyazaki (2003) are the two fourth runner-ups from Japan. The Miss Universe Japan pageant was founded in the year 1998 and it was run by Ines Ligron till 2009. Under Ines guidance Japan produced one Miss Universe & first runner-up crown.
