Iris Mittenaere wins Miss France 2016 [Full Results]

Iris Mittenaere crowned Miss France 2016!!!

Miss Nord Pas de Calais- Iris Mittenaere defeated 30 other contestants to bag the Miss France 2016 crown. The 86th edition of Miss France took place at Zénith Arena de Lille on 19th December 2015. The pageant was hosted by Television personality Jean-Pierre Foucault & Miss France 2002 Sylvie Tellier. Iris was crowned by the outgoing Miss France 2015- Camille Cerf. Iris will represent France at Miss World 2016 and Miss Universe 2016. If for any reason she fails to qualify for any pageant her runner-up will go on to represent France. Miss Martinique- Morgane Edvige was crowned as the first runner-up where as Miss Tahiti -Vaimitu Teiefitu bagged the second runner-up crown. Miss Provence – Julia Courtès & Miss Réunion – Azuima Issa were  crowned third and fourth runner-up .

France was the first country to win Both Miss World and Miss Universe in the Same year. Denise Perrier bagged the Miss World 1953 crown where as her compatriot Christiane Martel was crowned as Miss Universe 1953. France has entered the top 5 of Miss Universe only once. France has three first runner-up crowns at Miss World,Claudine Auger was crowned the first princess at Miss World 1958,Véronique Caloc was awarded the same title at Miss World 1998 and Marine Lorphelin bagged the first runner-up (first princess) crown at 2013 edition of Miss World. Miss France 2014  Flora Coquerel is currently representing France at the ongoing Miss Universe 2015 pageant in Las Vegas,Nevada. Miss France 2015 first runner-up Hinarere Taputu  represented France at Miss World 2015 in Sanya,China where she was a  Top 10 finalist.

22-year-old  Iris hails from the city of Lille,she is fifth year Dentistry student at University of Lile. Daughter of two teachers she completed her schooling from Steenvoorde. She enjoys dancing,gymnastics, theater and riding. She is the second Miss Nord de Calais to win the Miss France crown.
