Marisa Butler wins Miss Maine USA 2016 [Full Results]

Marisa Butler crowned Miss Maine USA 2016!!!

 

Marisa Butler defeated 25 other contestants to wear the crown of Miss Maine USA 2016. Marisa was crowned by the outgoing Miss Maine USA 2015 -Heather Elwell. Marisa will now represent Maine at the Miss USA 2016 pageant next year. The first runner-up crown went to  Brooke Harris,  Jasmin White was crowned as the second runner-up. In the same event Jessica Stewart was crowned as Miss Teen Maine USA 2016. Jessica will represent Maine at Miss Teen USA 2016 pageant next year.

Maine is one of the least successful state at the Miss USA pageant.Maine has placed only eight times in the history of the pageant highest placement came courtesy of Katie Whittier who bagged the fourth runner-up crown at Miss USA 2010 pageant.

21 year old Marisa hails from the town of Standish in Maine. She is currently pursuing a degree in Economics with a minor in Business from Stonehill College in Easton Massachusetts. Marisa is an avid athlete she has been a goal keeper for her college soccer team. She was captain of the cheerleading team who went on to win a national title in 2013. She has also played Lacrosse for her college and her team bagged division || national title. Marisa was caught in a international controversy where she was caught tagging sharks for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association’s Corporative Tagging Program. The aim of the program was to study sharks behavior.She managed to tag more than 30 sharks by bringing them to shore. Marisa enjoys Opera singing, hiking,boating and fishing. She participated in Miss Teen Maine USA 2011 where she was first runner-up and competed in Miss Maine 2013 where she failed to place.
