Madison McKeown wins Miss South Dakota USA 2016 [Result]

20-year-old Madison McKeown from Sioux Falls,South Dakota won Miss South Dakota USA 2016 by defeating 20 other contestants.  Madison will now represent her state at Miss USA 2016 pageant next year. Tessa Dee bagged the first runner-up crown where as Alyssa Hustrulid was crowned as second runner-up.

South Dakota is one of the least successful state at the Miss USA pageant. They have placed only twice in the history of the pageant and they have never advanced beyond the semi-finals of the pageant. Helen Youngquist, Miss South Dakota USA 1958 and Debra Ann Brickley, Miss South Dakota USA 1978 are the only semi finalists from South Dakota. Marlene M. Rieb, Miss South Dakota USA 1952 was the first Miss South Dakota USA but she withdrew due to some personal reasons. Kathleen Herman became the first representative from South Dakota in 1953.

20-year-old Madison McKeown hails from  Sioux Falls,South Dakota. She was also the first runner-up at Miss Teen South Dakota USA 2013 and won the title of Miss Teen South Dakota USA 2014. She failed to make the first cut at Miss Teen South Dakota USA 2014. Madison is currently studying at Kansas State University where she is majoring in Fashion and Public Relations. Madison has been featured in various magazines such as Teen Vogue, Seventeen Prom and Teen Prom Magazine. She designed her own gown during her teen state pageant. She bagged Miss Congeniality title at her Teen state pageant. Madison loves hot yoga,listening to music and playing golf.
