Albijona Muharremaj wins Miss Deutschland 2015
Albijona Muharremaj was crowned Miss Deutschland 2015 at the end of the national event. This 20-year-old beauty hails from Munich and shall now represent Germany in Miss World 2015 which shall be held in December in Sanya, China. Albijona Muharremaj battled out 17 other stunning contestants to claim the title of Miss Deutschland 2015 held at Dortmund. All the contestants competed in Casual wear and Cocktail dresses. Swimsuit round was skipped in the finale which is supposed to be due to the announcement made by Julia Morley, CEO of Miss World, where she stated that Miss World will no longer have Swimsuit round as a judgement criteria for deciding the winner.
Albijona Muarremaj hails from Kosovo and previously represented Kosovo in Miss Intercontinental 2014, where the contestant from Thailand was declared as the winner. Germany doesn’t have a much noticeable placement streak at Miss World contest. Germany has two Miss World winners– Petra Schürmann in 1956 and Gabriella Brum in 1980. The latter resigned from her post and since then, no German woman has ever made it to the semis of Miss World except for Susanna Marie Kobylinski in 2010.
Although Albijona looks a bit promising, but she will have a tough challenge from countries having front-runners like Liesl Laurie from South Africa, Victoria Mendoza from USA, Aria Perez from Guam,Tess Alexander from Australia, Aditi Arya from India, Sanneta Myrie from Jamaica, Camila Maranon from Ecuador, Gabriela Salazar from Honduras, Lisa Punch from Guyana, Kimberly Farrah Singh from Trinidad and Tobago, Arlene Tacite from Guadalupe , Daniela Miron from Argentina; to name a few.
