Miss Carol Stream Zena Malak defeated 84 contestants to bag the crown of Miss Illinois USA 2016. The finale took place at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts.She will represent her state at Miss USA 2016 Pageant. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss Illinois USA 2015 Renee Wronecki who was one of the Top 15 in Miss USA 2015. Miss Norwood Park Jasmine Guy was crowned as First Runner Up.Illinois is one of the most successful states in the History of Miss USA as they have four Miss USA titles. Miss USA 1952  Myrna Hansen  was the first winner from Illinois. Myrna won First Runner Up at Miss Universe 1952. Marite Ozers in 1963 won the state its second crown. Miss USA 1973 Amanda Jones and Miss USA 1974 Karen Morrison gave Illinois back to back victories at Miss USA Pageant. Miss World South Sudan 2014 Awien Kuanyin (Top 25 at Miss World 2014) was also a contestant at Miss Illinois USA 2015. She failed to crack the Top 5.

Zena Malak: Zena is a graduate from DePaul University in Chicago. Her father is  Half Lebanese and Half Egyptian. She is not new to Pageants she was crowned as Miss Illinois Galaxy International 2011. She also competed at Miss Illinois USA 2013 where she bagged the Third Runner Up crown. She will try to become fifth Miss Illinois to win Miss USA and Second Muslim women to win Miss USA title. Zena also won Miss Photogenic. Zena & Jasmine Guy, the eventual First Runner Up Both were in Top 5 of Miss Illinois USA 2013.
