Theresa Agonia is the winner of Miss Rhode Island USA 2016 title.  She is 23.  She was crowned as the winner in finals on 30th August 2015.  She succeeds Anea Garcia, Miss Rhode Island USA 2015, as the winner.  She will be competing at Miss USA 2016 next year, where the gorgeous Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan, USA’s current bet for Miss Universe 2015, will be crowning her successor.  Theresa’s predecessor Anea Garcia was a huge favorite in Miss USA 2015.  She was perhaps the best in swimsuit during the finals and did very well in evening gown too.  Inspite of bombing the interviews, she ended up being third, proving that judges were too impressed by her performances in first two rounds.

Along with Theresa Agonia, one more beauty celebrated success.  Malia Cruz won the title of Miss Rhode Island Teen USA 2016 in the same event.

Theresa Agonia participated in Miss Rhode Island 2013 and placed as the fourth runner-up.  She is a media communication graduate from Roger William University.  She focused on public relations.  This lass from central falls has deep interest in community work.  She loves travelling, pageantry, sports and can speak four languages (spanish, french, english, portuguese).  She enlists public speaking, event planning, presenting & leadership as her specialties.

Theresa Agonia will be representing a state which is not among the most successful ones at Miss USA and yet has a nice record to boost.  Find the highlights:

  • Olivia Culpo is the only winner of Miss USA title from Rhode Island.  Of course, she is the only Miss Universe from the state too!  In fact she is the only Triple Crown winner in the history of Miss Rhode Island USA system.
  • Danielle Lacourse is the only first runner-up from Rhode Island in Miss USA.
  • Gayle White (1973) and Anea Garcia (2015) are the only two 2nd runner-ups from the state.
