Miss Universe Ghana 2015 – Hilda Akua

26 years old Hilda Akua from Accra won the Miss Universe Ghana 2015 crown.  Hilda will now represent Ghana at Miss Universe 2015 Pageant later this year.  Perhaps the biggest competition for Hilda Akua in Miss Universe 2015 from African continent would be Miss South Africa 2015 Liesl Laurie. The current front-runners for Miss Universe 2015 title are Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan, Miss Thailand 2015 Aniporn Chalermburanawong, Miss Australia Monika Radulovic, Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez and Miss Puerto Rico Catalina Morales among others.

Hilda Akua is a pageant veteran.  This 5 ft 9 inches stunner has competed in Miss Africa USA 2014 where she won second runner up.  She has also represented Ghana at Miss Global International.  Hilda is a graduate from Texas A&M University and is preparing to return to school for her Masters and JD in International Law and Relations.  She aspires to become a diplomat where she can educate the world about the issues that affect the people worldwide.  Hilda was diagnosed with Scoliosis.  After learning about the disease & how to prevent it, she joined hands with Scoliosis Care Foundation, where she was appointed as their spokesperson.  Later she started an initiative program called Straight Up.  This programs helps young girls who have been diagnosed with Scoliosis to develop healthy self esteem.

Yaya Zoe was crowned as the first Runner Up, where as Vanessa Otuo-Acheampong was crowned as second runner Up.  Miss USA 2015 4th runner up Mame Adjei was one of the hosts for the finale.  Hilda Akua was crowned by the outgoing Miss Universe Ghana 2014 Abena Appiah.  Akuba Cudjoe, Miss Universe Ghana 1999 & Top 10 at Miss Universe 1999, is the only representative from Ghana to have placed in Miss Universe Pageant.
