Review of India’s Next Top Model Episode 6
India’s Next Top Model Episode 6 brought up a challenge that made us closer to seeing the real potential of the girls in different angle. Girls faced two challenges in this episode. First being Make up challenge where the Lakme expert did their make up using Lakme products like Lakme Mascara, Lakme Lipstick, Lakme Eye liner etc. But the challenge here was that the expert did make up only on half face of the girls and balanced face was supposed to be done by them in a way that it replicate the other half. Second product being TRESemme Keratin Shampoo where girls were suppose to promote the product through a video shoot. The brought Javed Jaffrey for judging the video shoot. He was a good entertainer and did a nice job as a judge with appropriate commentary, balancing with his unique sense of humour. Let me review both the challenges and in the end I shall give my personal rankings and conclusion.
Review of Make Up Challenge
#1- Aditi Shetty
I personally loved Aditi’s make up. She did justice to the make up done by the expert. Her lipstick was perfect and so was her foundation. However, she could have concentrated more in eyeliner and mascara portion where she failed to match. But overall Aditi Shetty did a great job.
#2- Anam Shaikh
The major distracting thing here is the intensity of Lakme lipstick is not at all matching on Anam’s lips. Even the eye liner is missing the fineness. She didn’t impress me much in this challenge.
#3- Danielle Canute
As Expert also pointed out, I feel that Danielle did better eye-lining than him. Her lipstick lost a bit of intensity and the amount of blush wasn’t exactly same. But overall Danielle did a decent job. She was one of the 2 winners in this challenge but not for me.
#4- Gloria Tep
Facially Gloria Tep left no stone unturned and she followed the instructions of expert. But her mascara shades were screaming at two different poles of the earth. One can easily point out this difference. Decent job though.
#5- Malvika Sitlani
Malvika was the perfect most girl out there in the 7 girls. She did justice to half part by replicating almost perfect amount of lipstick, mascara and compact powder. She was another girl of 2 winners who won this challenge deservingly. However, I was pretty pissed off by her laid back and insecure attitude of sharing the title with Danielle. Don’t know why?
#6- Monica Gill
I loved the lipstick shade of Monica Gill, she blended it so perfectly. I also liked her overall make up. However, there was some weird contrast between her left and her right eye lower part. May be she didn’t do proper mascara?
#7- Rushali Rai
Rushali completely messed up by losing the patience in a hurry of completing the make up first. She should have realised that she was supposed to win this contest by being perfect and not by being first. She lost the intensity of her lipstick and completely missed the mascara part. Definitely not expected from a front-runner like her.
My Personal Ranking in Order: Malvika Sitlani, Aditi Shetty, Monica Gill, Gloria Tep, Danille Canute, Anam Shaikh, Rushali Rai.
Review of Video Shoot
#1- Aditi Shetty
I feel so bad about my judgement that I underestimated this girl in the beginning. She was like a pro in this video shoot that I really didn’t feel that she was facing the camera for first time. I also liked how playful she was with her short hair. If I had to buy the shampoo on the basis of this ad, I would definitely do. Btw, I use TRESemme Keratin Shampoo and conditioner as I just love the smoothness it leaves after wash (And yes, I am no way affiliated to TRESemme or their subsidiaries. It’s purely my opinion).
#2- Anam Shaikh
If, for a moment, I forget the acting part, then Anam looked perfect..!!! She was like those supermodel who does the real ads of shampoo advertisement. I actually liked most of her acting part as well, except that ‘KACHRA’ word, which looked a bit dehati.
#3- Danielle Canute
For the first time, I was disappointed with Danielle. She bored me till death by her so calm and composed acting about how shampoo washes her hair. For a moment I fell that she was playing a victim to shampoo. She could be a great ramp model, good print model but need lot of grooming to be able to use her speaking for her advantage in modelling.
#4- Gloria Tep
I feel that Gloria did pretty decent advertisement. I loved when she was playing with her hair in a funny way. And I feel Gloria has the perfect most hair to star in a shampoo ad. Her accent was also very sweet, although on TV it may not be very desirable but dubbing can help her.
#5- Malvika Sitlani
Malvika was pretty confident and did a decent job. She gave a lot of variety with her hair during the part where she was portraying victim of damaged hair. However, I feel that she became too loud in the second part of the ad. The connect here was missing.
#6- Monica Gill
Monica’s video ad took time of two girls!!! She took so many pauses that she could have sold shampoo as well as conditioner ;). And I am still scratching my head to find the reason on why she was being so seductive for selling as shampoo bottle? it looked more of an adult ad. Monica was a disappointment for me. I don’t know how she was the Top performer of this week.
#7- Rushali Rai
Rushali Rai offered the highest amount of expressions in this add. She was pretty playful with her hair and looked beautiful. I also liked that black and white screen concept when her hair were damaged and then the screen becomes colourful when her hair are rejuvenated. Rushali is the only girl who is yet to disappoint me, apart from Aditi Shetty who has growing up on me from day 1.
My Personal Ranking in Particular Order: Aditi Shetty, Rushali Rai, Gloria Tep, Malvika Sitlani, Anam Shaikh, Danielle Canute, Monica Singh.
Conclusion: I am really not convinced with the elimination of Anam Shaikh. This girl had lot of potential and she was wasted too early. I hope she joins Miss India after proper grooming and she will be a front-runner. I feel Malvika or Aditi are next in line to get eliminated. However, I wish to see Aditi stay for some more weeks.
