Review of India’s Next Top Model Episode 5
I was literally overjoyed after watching India’s Next Top Model Episode 5. This also have to be the best episode till date, because of the quality and the challenge. I loved how girls transformed from Zero to Hero (Heroine in this case). Thanks to TRESemme Experts..!!! Well coming on to the review part, the episode had only one challenge to judges but I would again split my review into two parts. First part, I would like to discuss the make over of the girls, although not a challenge. In second part, I shall review the performance of the girls in Neck Up Head-shots. The show also brought Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar to judge the photo-shoot and honestly, he didn’t do justice as a judge from entertainment point of view. It looked as if his opinion was influenced by other two judges and he was struggling to have proper set of words to speak while passing the judgement. Fortunately, there was no elimination this time and all the girls stayed back for next round.
Review of Make Over of Contestants
Aditi had tears in her eyes when her hair got trimmed. She believed that she would not look good in short hair. And I don’t know why every one was praising her, but to me that hair didn’t help her beauty enhance. It actually made her look bit more bulky. However, I liked her hair more during her narration from background in between the scenes.
To me Anam had one of the best make overs. Her new hair style just accentuated her sharp cheek bone. The thin layer on front top and heavy volume in the bottom made her look even hotter. I loved her look here.
Just like Anam, Danielle too had heavy locks at bottom. Danielle too had one of the most transformational make over. Previously Danielle looked like a teen girl but now she looks like a matured girl turning into a woman. Although, this picture doesn’t do justice to her real look here.
Gloria Tep is my golden girl. That burgundy colour hair just brought that SUPERMODEL out of her. I also loved the fact when she said ‘I feel that devil side of me has come out’ when she saw her make over. Now she actually looks like a Top Model.
#5- Malvika Sitlani
Malvika had the highest tears while getting her hair trimmed. In fact, she was crying on behalf of every one it seemed. Never mind, I loved her new make over. Her hair used to cover her face in a messy way but that trimming helped her face getting proper definition and accentuated the right bone structure where it was required.
#6- Monica Gill
Monica Gill was the hottest looking girl after the make over( not that before she wasn’t). With that face, she can bag few good movies and that make over made her look like CBI officer/Detective (in a positive sense). Especially, that blue dress suited her so well that I liked her overall look even more. One thing I don’t like about Monica is that she is literally falling down as a victim. I like girls with fighting spirits and Monica doesn’t seem to have so from whatever is shown on the TV.
Rushali looked million dollar girl in that Pulp Fiction’s hairstyle. Somebody made that comment that she looked classy supermodel from France and I couldn’t agree more to that. I loved her look and I am damn sad that we lost this girl at Femina Miss India 2015. I wish she turns up for Miss Diva that sends girl to Miss Universe pageant.
My Personal Ranking for Make Over would be (In order of ranking):Anam Shaikh, Gloria Tep, Monica Gill, Malvika Sitlani, Rushali Rai, Danielle Canute, Aditi Shetty.
Review of Abstract Head-shots
This was Aditi’s best shot. I couldn’t stop staring at her shot which had so much of mystery and story to tell. She was supposed to portray a broken doll and she did justice to that. However, a bit more emotional expression would have taken her to the top position.
I agree that Anam wasn’t her best, but she was not as bad as she was shown in the pic. I saw few good shots coming from her. But yes, she wasn’t at her best in this moment. I believe a girl who is supposed to portray as a desert queen should have a Proudy laughing stare but Anam didn’t deliver that.
Although judges praised Danielle, I wasn’t much convinced with her shot. Her giant look helped her look like queen of desert but her expression didn’t. However, she was better than Anam here.
As far as I remember, Gloria was supposed to portray a girl who was lost in the forest. But judges were praising her for looking like she owns the forest, I don’t get why. I loved the stare of Gloria which has so much of mystery in that. Probably one of the best shots but not exactly depicting the brief she was supposed to give. She doesn’t look lost to me honestly.
This was Malvika’s best performance till date. Very few girls could do justice to the brief they were supposed to do and Malvika was one of them. She look lost since long and her tearful stare made me feel that she was hoping for that ‘Ray of Light’ that could guide her way through jungle. Malvika rocked this shot.
Monica consistently managed to disappoint me show by show. The girl I loved a lot in my Episode 1 Review, now I feel she lost the battle ground. She doesn’t even have Sreeradhe to blame now. At the same time, I also believe that the hairstyle she was given was not right to portray a QUEEN. But her expressions were no varying from shot to shot. This girl has huge potential but it is somehow not getting properly channelised.
And here is the winner..!! Rushail’s one shot tells million words. Those curious eyes and those mysterious expression takes it all. Rushali never fails to impress me. That hair, that make up and that little chair was all a deadly combination that made this shot look PERFECT. I am actually running out of words to describe this girl but be ready to see her going far in this competition.
My Personal Rankings for Head Shots (in order of Ranking): Rushali Rai, Malvika Sitlani, Aditi Shetty, Gloria Tep, Danielle Canute, Anam Shaikh, Monica Gill.
Conclusion: If there was an elimination this time, I feel it would have been Monica Gill. Hope she bucks up next time as I really don’t wish to see her getting out this soon.
