Sylvia Hitchcock, former Miss Universe from USA, is no more.
Sylvia Hitchcock, also known as Sylvia Louise Hitchcock-Carson, has passed away, reports say. It is said that she had been sick from a while. She was an American actress, model & Beauty queen. She won Miss Alabama USA, Miss USA and Miss Universe titles in the year 1967.
Sylvia Hitchcock was 5 ft 7 in (1.70 m). She had brown eyes and hair. Miss Universe 1967 took place in Miami, Florida. Margareta Arviddson of Sweden, the winner of Miss Universe 1966, crowned Sylvia Hitchcock (Miss USA 1967) as the new Miss Universe. It was the first year of Bob Parker as the host of Miss Universe. The first runner-up was Mariela Perez of Venezuela. Total 56 girls competed in the pageant.
Sylvia Hitchcock married and had three children. Along with her husband, she developed recycling projects and products that saved energy. She was a passionate environmentalist. She had been making appearances in state pageants and even in Miss USA pageants in past 10-15 years. She was a judge in Miss Universe 1972 which was won by Kerry Anne Wells (Miss Australia).
