Miss USA & Miss Universe to be of 3 hours from this year?
The following is the recent Miss USA press release.
The 2014 MISS USA® Competition Heats Up the Bayou June 8 on NBC (8-11 P.M. ET) LIVE from Baton Rouge River Center in Louisiana
New York, NY – March 13, 2014 – NBC, Donald J. Trump and Paula M. Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that the 2014 MISS USA® Competition will air LIVE from Baton Rouge, Louisiana on NBC Sunday, June 8 (8-11 p.m. ET) from The Baton Rouge River Center.
“Since the inception of its Film Commission in 2007, the city of Baton Rouge has quickly become a filming destination for the entertainment industry,” says Trump. “There has been an astounding amount of growth in a short amount of time with over 127 productions generating 700 million dollars directly for the city,” adds Trump. “We are happy the Miss USA telecast will put a focus on the huge economic development that has occurred there.”
Did you notice that the timing of the pageant is 3 hours? Does that mean that we will be able to enjoy the show for one more hour? Possibly Miss Universe Organization may adopt the same change for Miss Universe too! How cool can that be! Of course, MUO has not confirmed this, but we don’t mind wishful thinking if it’s fun! 😉
Also, a 3-hour show can mean many advantages:-
- More focus on delegates
- Perhaps a proper and extended interview round for Top 5 or Top 10
- One more hour of fun!
Let’s pray this turns out to be true…
