Indian Pageants

Thank You Shilpa Singh….!!!

Miss Universe 2012

Shilpa Singh’s story is no less than any disney princess story. Self proclaimed Tomboy, this 23 year old Software engineer by profession would change forever when she joined I AM She 2012, the Indian Preliminaries for Miss Universe Pageant. Shilpa was announced the first Runner Up to Urvashi Rautlea. Shilpa was basically going to represent India at Miss Globe International pageant, but God had betters plans for her as Urvashi could not meet the age requirements so she was ineligible to compete at Miss Universe 2012. This lead to the promotion of Shilpa as India’s representative at the 61st Miss Universe Pageant. Shilpa was bashed heavily during her  stint at Miss Universe for her poor wardrobe, many considered that India’s 4 year drought at Miss Universe would continue as they were still into the shock of Urvashi’s dethronement…!!!

On December 19th 2012 at the Planet Hollywood & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada. There were only 2 spots remaining in the top 16 and to the surprise of many, Shilpa Singh was called in as a semi finalist. Shilpa broke India’s drought at Miss Universe Pageant.

Shilpa performed well during the swimsuit round but unfortunately she could not enter the top 10. We felt Shilpa had killer walk during preliminary and she maintained the same rapo during finale. Shilpa was the last girl to be send by Sushmita Sen as the National Director of India, after the Sushmita Tweeted that it was her last year as the franchise owner & she was proud of Shilpa  for bringing long lost glory to India.

We really thank her for carrying positive attitude at Miss Universe 2012 and bringing back India on the map of Miss Universe and for giving India a spot in Top 16 which was missing since 4 years as the last placement was in 2007 due to Puja Gupta…!!!

May Shilpa have a bright future ahead in life.. 🙂
