HALL OF FAME : SINDHURA GADDE (MISS INDIA WORLD 2005) – PART II OUT OF II

As promised, we are back with the second part of the article about the wonderful Miss India World 2005 Sindhura Gadde.  The first part was posted about a week ago.

AT MISS WORLD STINT IN SANYA, CHINA

Miss World 2005 took place in Sanya, China with 100+ contestants.  That year, the girls were divided into six regions and the people throughout the world would vote for 2 girls from each region for semi-finalist spots.  Fast-Track events like Beach Beauty, Miss Talented and Beauty with a Purpose would determine the rest 3 semi-finalists.  Picture shows big favorite Ramona Amiri from Canada in Beach Beauty event of the pageant.

Girls from Philippines, Iceland, Mexico, Italy, Puerto Rico & Venezuela were also popular.  Miss Russia was the first semi-finalist by winning the Beach Beauty title.  Miss Korea won the Beauty with a purpose title.  Miss US Virgin Islands was Miss Talented.  Picture shows the stunning Carlene Aguilar of Philippines, who was the biggest threat to our Sindhura in Asia-Pacific region.

Our Sindhura did not place in any fast-track event.  But that did not deter her confidence.  In 2005, all the girls were given a chance to speak for themselves in VOTE FOR ME videos which were circulated throughout the world.  Based on these, the people voted for their favorites.

Sindhura literally SHONE in her VOTE FOR ME video.  She exuded confidence and charm.  Her aura was wonderful.  She looked highly well-groomed.  She was so good that Miss Australia picked Sindhura as her favourite for Miss World in an interview segment of VOTE FOR ME videos.

Then came the finale.  Sindhura wore a beautiful glittering gown that could easily attract attention.  She received second-highest number of votes in Asia-Pacific region and thus became one of the semi-finalists. During her interview in the finale, she confidently expressed herself and was clearly the best speaker in her group.  Still, Miss Korea was chosen as the winner from her group perhaps due to her success in BEAUTY WITH A PURPOSE competition.  Picture shows Sindhura in her beautiful gown when she was called as one of the semi-finalists.  The other girl in the picture is Miss Korea.

The finale concluded with Miss Iceland Unnur Birna winning the edition.  Sindhura expressed her satisfaction over her own performance saying that she gave her best and looks forward to a successful career in modelling and Bollywood.  Picture shows Sindhura with eventual winner Unnur Birna from Iceland.

Sindhura made her debut in Tollywood movie Sangamam.  In all, she did four movies – three in Telugu and one in Hindi.  Hey Baby  was the Hindi movie in which her role was more on the negative side.  It was a minor role.  Picture shows her with Akshay Kumar in a still from the movie.

She continued hosting Miss India South pageant for three years and finally settled in New Zealand after marrying long-time boyfriend Jonathan Ward in the year 2010.

Sindy (pet name of Sindhura) will always be remembered among Indian pageant fans as the girl who achieved success against all odds.  It is not possible to “not think of her” when thinking about inner beauty.  Her inner glow helped her light up in a sea of incredibly beautiful woman.  Beauty is not skin-deep, they say and girls like Sindhura prove it.  Picture shows happy Sindhura with her husband Jonathan Ward.  We wish they live “happily ever after”. 🙂 🙂
