When Dr. Kavitha Shashikumar first put on heels a few months ago, she had never worn them before. She was 54 years old, a qualified physician with an MBBS and MD to her name, a published author, a weight-lifter, a hiker who has traversed trails across 40 countries, and a runner — but heels were new territory. That detail alone says everything about the kind of woman who walked onto the stage at Featherlite Evoma Hotel in Bengaluru on May 26, 2026, and walked off as Mrs. Unity World Classic India 2026.

Originally from Bengaluru and now based in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Kavitha came into Studio 32 Presents Cosmos Queen India 2026 carrying a life story that most people would consider complete several times over. The Mrs. Unity World Classic division exists precisely for women like her — those whose strength and beauty have been shaped not by youth but by decades of experience, transformation, and deliberate living. And in that context, Dr. Kavitha was not just a strong contender. She was a natural fit.

The competition was rigorous across all stages: brand shoots, personality evaluations, interactive assessments, and on the finale evening, Cocktail Wear and Evening Gown rounds presented by Nihal Thakur Studio, followed by a Final Question and Answer round judged by Yuki Matsuda, Sargam Koushal, Amit Chauhan, and Dipakk Shahi. What emerged through every stage was not a pageant performance, but a point of view — one built from a lifetime of working on herself with the same discipline she brings to her medical practice.

“This crown is not just an honour — it is a global megaphone. It allows me to champion the message that our health is our truest form of beauty, a radiance that only deepens as we grow.”

The transformation she speaks about most is her own. From an unhealthy 90 kg to an active, competitive 58 kg — a shift that didn’t happen through shortcuts but through the same philosophy she now wants to take to the world: that beauty is rooted in wellness, and wellness is something anyone can pursue at any stage of life. Her platform, Beauty Rooted in Wellness, is not a slogan. It is the throughline of everything she does — as a physician helping patients navigate health decisions, as an athlete mentoring others through their fitness journeys, and now as a titleholder with an international stage.

What she described as most unique about herself is something that feels almost philosophical in its simplicity: she never competes with anyone else. Only with herself — measuring today against yesterday, asking only whether she has grown. It is that mindset, she believes, that took her from where she was to where she stands now. And it is the mindset she wants to share, particularly with women who believe that their most powerful years are somehow behind them.

Cosmos Queen India, which operates under The Great Pageant Community and has been built over more than fifteen years by founders Monika Shahi and Dipakk Shahi into one of India’s most respected pageant organisations, will now send Dr. Kavitha to represent India at the Unity World Pageants 2026 in September. The message she carries is one that the international stage deserves to hear: that a woman’s vitality, impact, and voice have no expiration date.
