Introducing Dhanshri Dagwar, a 26-year-old software engineer from Pune, Maharashtra. She is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and mental health awareness. Despite facing challenges like body shaming and financial struggles, Dhanshri has emerged as a beacon of resilience and determination.

Contesting for India’s Miss TGPC Season-12 against 50 other girls from across India and beyond, Dhanshri is ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and advocacy, showcasing the vibrancy of India.

TGPC: What motivated you to participate in India’s Miss TGPC?

Dhanshri: I have been following IMTGPC for a long time, and I have seen many girls transform from person to personality. Beyond that, it’s the extraordinary team that will always guide us in our upcoming pageant journey, and I will be called “TGPC ki beti”. And most importantly, it’s the title called “India’s Miss TGPC” that has motivated me to participate in and win this prestigious title.

TGPC: Why do you believe you are deserving of the India’s Miss TGPC title?

Dhanshri: The fire in my belly to add “INDIA” in my achievements has brought me to India’s Miss TGPC. Coming from a conservative family, it has always been difficult for me to speak for my dream when it comes to modeling and pageantry. But I understand it is not only about my dream but about every girl out there who needs to give up on their dream due to societal pressure or their background. I firmly believe it is today’s generation’s responsibility to act on these issues rather than just discussing them. I believe I have that charismatic personality and power in my voice that will influence many young women out there to chase their dreams. I will make them believe that if I can do it, then they can too. True success is not only about winning but ensuring that your victory has a positive impact on the people around you to chase their dreams. That is why I believe the purpose of becoming motivational wings for others makes me deserving to win India’s Miss TGPC title.

TGPC: Looking towards the future, what are your plans, both with and without the crown?

Dhanshri: I am eager to use my voice globally, keeping ‘INDIA’ close to my heart. I want to represent my nation internationally and use my voice to empower women to stride on their paths to achieving their dreams.

TGPC: Growing up, what would you say was your biggest challenge?

Dhanshri: I believe life will test you not to showcase your weaknesses but to reveal your strengths. In my college days, I was bullied for my body type and color, which caused me to feel depressed sometimes. But today, I am really proud of myself for how far I have come, and there are still many milestones I aim to achieve.

TGPC: Beyond winning, what aspect of India’s Miss TGPC are you most excited about?

Dhanshri: I believe instead of living days of life, you should add life to your days. This journey is what I am most excited about. Beyond that, meeting my pageant sisters, learning new things, and various tasks during the competition have made me even more excited. And yes, the most exciting thing is the announcement of the top five. I believe this will be the most awaited moment for all the girls participating in this journey.

TGPC: As an aspiring winner of India’s Miss TGPC, what legacy do you aspire to leave behind?

Dhanshri: I have come from a background where, as a woman, you have a very limited path to choose for yourself. It was really difficult for me to speak for my dream and take steps towards it, but I did it because I know I am not the only one facing these challenges. I have started from small pageants and today, I have been shortlisted for a prestigious platform like IMT. I believe a stubborn heart always carves its way through the mountains, and that is exactly my perspective on the things I want to leave behind as my remarkable legacy.

TGPC: Could you share with us the causes or issues that you are particularly passionate about, and how do you intend to utilize this platform to create an impact?

Dhanshri: Coming from a very conservative family that has faced financial struggles from childhood, it was really difficult for my parents to provide a sound education to both their children. Many people advised them not to educate their daughters. But instead of giving up, they provided equal and virtuous education to both of us. Today, I am standing tall as the fruit of my parents’ hard work, and I want their perspective, i.e., girls’ right to education, to light up every household. I believe educating a girl is not just beneficial for society but is her basic fundamental right.

TGPC: Is there any message you’d like to convey to those reading this?

Dhanshri: People often say that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder. In my college days, I was bullied for my body type, which filled me with a lot of insecurities. People said various things that triggered me every single day, but then I realized, why fit in when you were born to stand out? I believe your worth is not defined by your appearances but by your skills and personality that make you stand out from the rest.
