TGPC: Why do you believe you are deserving of the India’s Miss TGPC title?
Chandrima: I am an individual who embodies the essence of resilience and self-reliance. From nurturing the dream of becoming a Miss India to financing my journey with minimal support from my parents, I’ve traversed a path marked by adversity. The title of India’s Miss TGPC symbolizes the collective strength of women who have endured hardships with grace, emerging as victorious warriors. I firmly believe that I am deserving of this title, not only to honor my own journey but also to serve as an inspiration for others facing similar struggles. TGPC: Growing up, what would you say was your biggest challenge?
Chandrima: For years, I grappled with insecurities stemming from my obese body, which took a toll on my self-confidence and communication skills, leaving my self-esteem in shambles. The weight of self-doubt led me down a path of self-loathing and perpetual procrastination. However, then I made a conscious decision to stop lamenting about my circumstances and take charge of my life.
I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and transformation, starting with yoga to achieve physical fitness. Through the practice of meditation and journaling, I found solace and gained invaluable insights into my innermost thoughts and emotions.
I challenged myself to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles, such as learning to drive a car and engaging in adventurous activities like parasailing. By immersing myself in social service platforms and actively participating in community events, I confronted my inner fears head-on, transforming them into triumphant victories that bolstered my self-confidence.
Moreover, I dedicated myself to improving my communication skills, gradually stepping out of my comfort zone to engage in small talk and forge meaningful connections with others. Today, I stand tall as a woman who has fearlessly confronted her inner demons, emerging victorious in every trial and tribulation. Through perseverance and unwavering determination, I have transformed my insecurities into strengths, paving the way for a brighter and more empowered future.
