Meet Miss America 2019 Contestants. Miss America 2019 will be the 92nd edition of the pageant. All 50 states and District of Columbia will compete at this year’s pageant. The grand finale of the pageant will take place on Sunday,9th of September 2018 at Jim Whelan boardwalk hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Cara Mund, Miss America 2018 from North Carolina will crown her successor at the end of the pageant. The pageant will be aired live on ABC.
For the first time in the pageant’s history, there will be no swimsuit round. Instead, there will be a live interaction between the judges where they contestants will talk about their achievements, talent, and ambitions. The evening gown competition has also been replaced now the contestants can wear anything in which they feel comfortable in. Gretchen Carlson, The chairperson of Miss America Organization emphasized that the organization wants to be more open, inclusive, and transparent.
