Demi Leigh Nel Peters from South Africa is Miss Universe 2017

Demi Leigh Nel Peters from Sotuh Africa was crowned as the winner of Miss Universe 2017. The finale of the contest was held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show was again hosted by Steve Harvey and  the backend hosting was done by Ashley Grahm, Lu Seirra & Carson Kressley. Demi Leigh battled out 91 other contestants in the contest to claim the title of Miss Universe. She was crowned by the outgoing queen Iris Mittenaere. Demi was also our Top choice for the crown in our Final Hotpicks.

It is interesting to note that for the first time ever, all the contestants were divided into 3 region- Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific & Oceania. 4 girls from each region made it to Top 16 and the last 4 were wild cards which came from rest of the contestants, irrespective of the geographical location.
