The Miss Universe Ghana pageant returns after a hiatus of one year. The pageant is schedule to take place next month winner of this pageant will represent Ghana at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant later this year. 12 beauties from across Ghana have been shortlisted to compete for the coveted crown.

Ghana has placed only once at the Miss Universe pageant courtesy of Akuba Cudjoe who was top 10 at Miss Universe 1999 pageant. Miss Ghana 2004, Menaye Donkor is the national director for Miss Universe Ghana pageant. Miss Ghana 2015, Hilda Akua Frimpong was the last woman from Ghana to compete at the Miss Universe pageant.
