Filipa Barroso, defeated 17 contestants to bag the title of Miss Portuguesa 2017. Grand finale of Miss Portuguesa 2017 took place on friday, july 29, 2017 at  Mosteiro da Batalha. Filipa was crowned by the outgoing Miss Portuguesa 2016,Cristiana Viana. Filipa will now travel to Sanya,China to compete at the 67th Miss World pageant. Vanessa Ribeiro was crowned as the first runner-up and Priscilla Alves  was awarded with the second runner-up crown.  The Miss Portuguesa Organization will appoint delegates for Miss International,Miss Supranational ,Miss Grand International and other international pageants.

Highest placement for Portugal at the Miss World pageant came in the year 1971 when Ana Paula de Almeida bagged the second runner-up crown. Portugal last placed at the Miss World pageant in 2012 when Melanie Vicente made it to the top 30.
