Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva crowned Miss World Zimbabwe 2017!

On July 22, 2017 coronation night, Chiedza Lorraine Mhosva was crowned as Miss World Zimbabwe 2017 in Borrowdale Brooke Golf Course. The 22 year old beauty queen hails from Centenary, Zimbabwe. She will now officially represent Zimbabwe in the upcoming Miss World 2017 pageant. Chiedza is not new to pageants, she has previously stood as 1st Runner Up at Miss Parade 2014. This year she was all set to win Miss World Zimbabwe 2017 and succeeded Annie Mutambu as the new Miss World Zimbabwe. This year the theme of the pageant was about celebrating beauty through the eyes of their late icon Kiki Divaris. Chiedza competed with 15 other contestants and won the prestigious title. On being asked about what the theme means to her, she replied, “It means love and beauty is not only based on physical features, but intelligence, heart and love and that was what the late Kiki Divaris was made of.” This winning answer gave her the most awaited dream come true moment. Chiedza holds a Diploma in Digital Advertising and is a Former Sales Executive at Abu Dhabi Art Hub. She is also a film and acting student from the University of Cape Town. Currently, she is working with Decean Modelling Agency in Cape Town, South Africa. She has done numerous fashion shoots and was trained by Marry Chiwenga. Chiedza is very passionate and is already working towards raising awareness about how to bring out the best of Zimbabwe’s models.

Zimbabwe has never won Miss World crown before. The closest it could reach was in 1994 when Angeline Musasiwa secured the 3rd runner up spot in Miss World 1994 pageant.
