After several weeks of preparation, 18-year-old Vena Mookram was crowned as the Miss World Guyana 2017. This was her maiden pageant as she has never taken part in any beauty contest. The contest was held at the Marriott Hotel Guyana on Sunday night, where Vena Mookram competed against nine other delegates for winning the coveted title. She will now represent her country, Guyana at Miss World 2017 which will be held in December. She succeeds Nuriyyih Gerrard as the new Miss World Guyana.
