Madhu Valli is crowned as Miss India USA 2016

Madhu Valli was crowned as Miss India USA 2016.  Madhu is 19 and stays in Virginia.  She studies at George Mason University and majors in Music and Communication.  She is an emerging hip hop artist and has recorded 14 singles already.  She wants to become a music star in coming years.

At the same event, Sarita Pattnaik from Texas was crowned as Mrs India USA.  She is an interior designer and mother of 2 children.  She wants to become social activist and become a voice for women’s empowerment.

Rhea Manjrekar from New York was crowned as Miss Teen USA.  She wants to work for homeless children and has raised USD 50,000 in last 2 years for the cause.

Miss India USA has been in existence since 1980 and is based at New York.  The pageant is popular among American-Indians and has been the launchpad of numerous actresses like Pooja Kumar, Richa Gangopadhyay, Nikkitasha Marwaha (appeared in ’24’) and Monica Gill Marok (appeared in ‘Ambarasariya’ movie).
