Lada Akimova has won the title of Miss Earth Russia 2017 and will be representing Russia at Miss Earth 2017. She succeeds Aleksandra Cherepanova as Miss Earth Russia.

Lada Akimova won Krasa Rossii 2016 (The Beauty of Russia) pageant which sends the winner to Miss Earth. Lada is only the third contestant to elected for participation in Miss Earth 2017, after Miss Belgium Shania Labeye and Miss Cyprus Artemis Charalambous. Lada is 18 and hails from Yekaterinburg.

Russia is considered to be one of the strong countries in pageants. The country has won two Miss World crowns by now and one Miss Universe crown although Miss Universe 2002 winner Oxana Federova was dethroned later. Russia has a rich history at Miss Earth too. In this decade itself, Miss Earth Russia 2011 Natalia Pereverzeva was Top 8 finalist in Miss Earth 2012. Miss Earth Russia 2013 Anastasia Trusova was 3rd runner-up in Miss Earth 2014. Miss Earth Russia 2015 Aleksandra Cherepanova was Top 8 finalist at Miss Earth 2016. It should also be noted that winner of Krasa Rossii 2009 Yevgenia Lapova was winner of Miss Asia Pacific International 2005 pageant. Will Lada Akimova achieve success in the Miss Earth pageant next year?
