“Philippines’s back to back at Miss Universe 2016 is possible”, says Paula Shugart, President of Miss Universe

In recent interview with CNN Philippines during her stay in the Philippines, the president of Miss Universe Organisation, Paula Shugart mentioned that a back to back win is possible for Philippines this year at Miss Universe 2016. The reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is from the Philippines and it’s very rare that a country wins back to back at Miss Universe; it has won only once in 2008-2009 when Venezuela conquered the crown.

However, in the a video, Paula mentioned that Maxine Medina is having equal chances to win  the crown as much as all other girls. It is to be noted tat Philippines is also the host for the contest this year. It would be interesting to see how Maxine places in the contest because she is from the reigning queen’s country and also the host country. Do you feel she will get second back to back?
