Bhaama Padmanathan will represent Singapore at Miss World 2016. The finals of Miss World 2016 will be held at Washington D.C. in the United States of America in December 2016. Singapore is participating in Miss World since 1972, but the country has placed just once – in the year 1976 with Pauline Poh Neo Cheong.
Bhaama is 24 years of age and 1.73 meters tall. She speaks English, Tamil, Chinese (conversational). She is a law student. When asked to describe herself, she says: “I am a kind and generous person, putting the needs of others before mine and always willing to step out of my comfort zone. I also possess excellent people skills, always looking to put a smile on other people’s faces and building some strong relationships.”
Bhaama Padmanathan believes in human rights, specifically gender equality and advocating for the freedom from violence. Recently she posted an open letter on Facebook.
I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity and for all the support from my family and friends. Representing Singapore at the Miss World Pageant 2016 is a huge honour.
The Miss World Crown symbolises a philanthropic cause and is a gift of fundraising; Beauty with a Purpose in its true form. I cannot wait to share, on a global platform, my support for women’s rights and freedom from violence by creating awareness of domestic violence in Singapore.
Beyond excited to meet all the extraordinary women in Washington in December!!
