Estefania Bernal is chosen as Miss Universe Argentina 2016

Estefania Bernal has been chosen as Miss Universe Argentina 2016.  She will represent Argentina at Miss Universe 2016 pageant in Manila, Philippines in January 2017. Estefania succeeds Claudia Barrionuevo as Miss Universe Argentina.

Estefania Bernal is from Buenos Aires.  She is 20 years of age and works as a fashion model.

Norma Nolan won the Miss Universe title for Argentina in the year 1962.  The country has been competing at the pageant since 1954.  They placed at Miss Universe many times in the initial years.  But the performance of the country degraded in past 3-4 decades.  They have placed only 2 times in past 3 decades.  The first among the two was Miss Universe Argentina 2006 Magali Romitelli – she was Top 20 at Miss Universe 2006.  The second was Valentina Ferrer, Miss Unvierse Argentina 2014 who made it to the Top 10.  Interestingly,  Argentina has been placing in Top 5 for Best National Costume award since past 2 years.  Will Argentina achieve a hatrick by making it to the Top 5 of Best National Costume for third year in row?  Will Estefania Bernal make it to the Top 15 of Miss Universe 2016-2017?  Time will only show.
