Katherine Espin of Ecuador has won the title of Miss Earth 2016.  She succeeds Angelia Ong of Philippines as Miss Earth title-holder.  Katherine has defeated 83 delegates to win the coveted title of Miss Earth.

The results were not a big surprise because Katherine Espin was always a favourite.  She was in TGPC’s Top 4 Picks for Miss Earth 2016.  It is to be noted that Miss Philippines Imelda Schweighart was kept out of Top 16 this year.  It is only 3rd year in the history of Miss Earth when Miss Philippines was not in Top 16.  This wasn’t a surprise because of the image Imelda had made for herself in recent weeks.

Here are the official final results.
