Iris Salguero has been crowned as Miss World Belize 2016

Iris Salguero has been chose as Miss World Belize 2016 in San Ignacio, Belize.  She will represent Belize in Miss World 2016 pageant which will be held in the United States of America in December 2016.  Iris will compete with 120+ contestants from around the world to become successor to the mesmerizing Mireia Lalaguna, Miss World 2015 from Spain.  1st Runner-up to Iris was Miss Moesha Shaw, 2nd Runner-up Kayla Lewis and 3rd Runner-up Krystalee Martinez.

Iris Salguero won Top Model & Miss Eloquent in the national pageant.  She is 20 years of age and belongs to San Pedro town.  Belize is participating in Miss World since 1987 and yet the country has not achieved a single placement. In fact, the only placement achieved by Belize in any major international pageant was the Top 12 placement of Sarita Diana Acosta, Miss Universe Belize in Miss Universe 1979.  Apart from this, Belize has not placed in any major international pageant ever.

Road will be tough for Iris Salguero in Miss World 2016 since many stunners are competing.  The sash of the country will not help her either.  Nevertheless nothing is impossible.  Can Iris create history by placing this year in Miss World?
