Camila Macias replaces Elena Rock as Miss World Argentina 2016.  This was announced on the Facebook page of Miss Mundo Argentina. Camila was originally the first runner-up in the national pageant.  Elena has been dethroned citing failure to perform her duties.  Now Camila Macias will represent Argentina at Miss World 2016, which will be held on 18th December 2016 at Washington D.C., the United States of America.  100+ countries will compete to win the coveted title of Miss World, which is currently held by Mireia Lalaguna of Spain.

Argentina at Miss World

Argentina has placed 12 times in Miss World.  In fact in the early years of participation, the country did great at Miss World.  Norma Gladys Cappagli achieved the first Miss World crown for the country in 1960.  Miss Argentina Silvana Suárez won Miss World crown in 1978.  However, since 1988, Argentina has not achieved placement in Miss World.
