Nozipho Magagula has been crowned as Miss Earth South Africa 2016. She will compete in Miss Earth 2016 pageant, that will be held in the Philippines in October 2016. Nozipho succeeds Carla Viktor as Miss Earth South Africa winner. She is a medical student and rural health activist from Pretoria, South Africa.
South Africa may not be a pageant power-house, but the country has done well in general in international pageantry. The country has won 1 Miss Universe and 3 Miss World titles till now. The last international beauty queen from South Africa was the ravishing Rolene Strauss, who won hearts of millions throughout the world with her beauty and poise during Miss World 2014.
Until now, South Africa has placed 5 times in Miss Earth. However, none of the representatives from the country ever cracked the Top 4. Last year’s Miss Earth South Africa Carla Viktor won a Bronze medal in sports competition of her group and a Gold medal in the Talent competition. She had also done a lot of work towards the cause of the pageant. Still she was kept out of the Top 16. This year is more challenging because of the set of contestants is stronger. Will Nozipho Magagula achieve a Top 16 placement?
