Lucija Potočnik wins Miss Universe Slovenia 2016

24-year-old  Lucija Potočnik defeated 11 other contestants to win Miss Universe Slovenia 2016 title. Miss Universe Slovenia 2016 took place on 24th June 2016 at Habakuk Hotel Congress Center in Maribor.  MIss Universe Slovenia 2015-Ana Haložan crowned Lucija as her successor. Lucija will represent Slovenia at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant in Las Vegas,Nevada. The first runner-up crown went to Tanja Božič where as the second runner-up title was awarded to Kaja Jokić.  Loli Jevtić was the recipient of this year’s Miss Congeniality & Miss Photogenic went to Sabini Mars. Apart from the title, Lucija wins a scholarship worth € 20,000 from Zagreb School of Economics and management.

Slovenia debuted at the Miss Universe pageant in the year 2001. They have placed only once in 2007 courtesy of Tjaša Kokalj. Despite arriving in Las Vegas for Miss Universe 2015 Ana Haložan could not compete because she suffered from a injury that left her face paralyzed. 24-years-old Lucija hails from Maribor &  is a student at the University of Maribor. Lucija is not new to the pageant scene she has won Miss Gaming Slovenia in 2014.

Lucija’s Chances at Miss Universe Universe 2016

Lucija has a beautiful face that reminds us of actress from the 60’s. Lucija needs to work on her body & bring her A game considering how though this batch is turning out to be. So far we don’t see her entering the top 15 but if she is determined and willing to work hard on her body and finds the right kind of styling she can go far in the contest. The New Miss Universe Organization is looking for more than just a pretty face or a  fierce doll they want girls that have X factor in them who can be molded into global superstars.
