Deshauna Barber from District of Columbia is Miss USA 2016

In the surprising turns of the event tonight at Miss USA 2016, Deshauna Barber from District of Columbia emerged out as the ultimate winner of the contest. The finale was held at Las Vegas, Nevada.  She battled out 51 other delegates to claim the title of Miss USA 2016.  Deshauna Barber was crowned by the outgoing queen Olivia Jordan, Miss USA 2015. This is the third crown of Miss USA that has gone to District of Columbia, first being in  1964 with Bobbie Johnson as the winner  and last being 2002 with Shauntay Hinton as the winner. Deshauna shall now compete in Miss Universe 2016 to be held later this year.

At the same event Chelsea Hardin from Hawaii was declared as the 1st runner-up whereas Emanii Davis from Georgia was declared as 2nd runner-up of the contest. Alabama and hot favourite Nadia Mejia from California ended up in just Top 5 after getting a very difficult question. Nadia was also elected as People’s Choice Winner that got her a direct entry into the Top 15. She was second in our Poll for People’s Choice Award.
