Mai Ngan from Vietnam wins Miss Southeast Asian 2016
Mai Ngan from Vietnam has been crowned as the winner of Miss Southeast Asian 2016. This 25 year old beauty battled out 8 other contestants in the contest to claim the title of Miss Southeast Asian 2016. The pageant finale was held in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Mai Ngan also won Designer Dress Award at the contest. She won the crown back to back for her country, as the last year’s winner was also from Vietnam only, Thu Vu, Miss Southeast Asian 2014-15.
At the same event, Cheryl Lynn from Borneo finished first runner-up, Nay Thiri Tun from Myanmar Nay finished as second runner-up and won the Multimedia award. Completing the Top 5 court were Miss Philippines Kimberly Tee (Best Model winner) and Miss Malaysia Jane Wong (Talent winner). The contestants competed in their national dresses, featuring Splendors of Southeast Asia (dances from their own countries), and designer dresses. The pageant was created in 2013 in order to promote goodwill among Southeast Asian communities.
