Aminata Adialin Bangura has been crowned Miss Sierra Leone 2016. The pageant was held at Bintumani International Conference Centre. She hails from Port Loko and will now represent Sierra Leone at Miss World 2016. She battled out 12 other contestants to claim the title of Miss Sierra Leone 2016. Aminata Adialin Bangura succeeds Margaret Murray as the new Miss Sierra Leone.
At the same event, Esther Williams from Western Area Urbanwas was declared as the first runner-up and Titty Kumba Kamara from Kono was declared as the second runner-up. Sierra Leone has only placed once at Miss World contest, i.e. 2009 with the courtesy of Mariatu Kargbo. This year Aminata Adialin Bangura will try grabbing another placement for the country and will attempt to conquer the fist ever crown of Miss World. The chairman of Miss Sierra Leone limited, Adonis Abboud said that Miss Sierra Leone 2016 would demonstrate to the world that there is more to Sierra Leone than ebola and rebel war.
