Miss Peru 2016: Valeria Piazza

Valeria Piazza of Districto Capital was chosen as Miss Peru 2016 on 23th April 2016 in a glittering ceremony in Lima, Peru.  Valeria succeeds Laura Spoya as the representative of Peru in Miss Universe.  The finals saw the presence of the reigning Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach from Philippines.

Valeria Piazza is a Peruvian actress and model.  She was born in 1990.  She was the winner of Miss Model of the World title in 2014.  She has brown eyes and hair.  She is from Lima, the capital city of Peru.

Valeria Piazza has big responsibility on her shoulders.  Although Laura Spoya din’t place last year, she got a lot of appreciation from fans worldwide.  The last placement of Peru in Miss Universe was in 2012 when Nicole Faveron made the Top 16.  She was also 9th place in Best National Costume round.  Peru has placed in years 1953, 1954, 1956, 1957,1958, 1961, 1965, 1966, 1969, 1972, 1978, 1982,1987, 1996, 2003, 2005 and 2012 – in total 16 times!  Gladys Zender won Miss Universe 1957.  Thus, overall Peru has a nice record in the pageant.
