Asmi Shrestha from Chitwan has been chosen as Miss Nepal World 2016.  She was crowned as the winner on 8th April 2016 at Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.  She succeeds Evana Manandhar from Pennsylvania, USA and will represent Nepal at Miss World 2016.  Asmi won the main title of the pageant, Miss Nepal 2016.  She also won ‘Best in Evening Gown’ special award in the finals.

Asmi Shrestha is studies business management.  She has been a popular model in her country.

Asmi Shrestha will be going to Miss World 2016 with huge responsibility.  The country has been doing well at Miss World since few years.  It started with Shrisi Shrestha who was Top 30 finalist in Miss World 2012.  She was Top 10 in Multimedia Award and Top 10 in Miss World Beach Beauty.  Nepal’s Ishani Shrestha created a splash in Miss World 2013 by winning the prestigious “Beauty With A Purpose” award and finished third in Multimedia Award contest.  She was Top 10 finalist in the finals.  This is the highest placement of Nepal.  In fact, before the announcement of Top 5, Ishani was in Top 5 of the final leader-board.  In 2014, Subin Limbu of Nepal was Top 10 in People’s Choice award.  Last year’s representative Evana Manandhar was selected for ‘Dances of the World’ and also finished in the Top 10 of “Beauty With A Purpose” award.  Thus, expectations from Asmi will be high.
