Generally when a girl from a country wins the Miss Universe pageant, the national pageant of the country in the next year is always very competitive.  Many girls get inspired by the victory of a girl from their country in a major international pageant and hence decide to try their luck.  Often the successors are stunners in themselves.  Miss India 2001 Celina Jaitley was 4th Runner-up at Miss Universe, while her predecessor Lara Dutta won the crown.  Miss Canada 2006 Alice Panikian was a Top 10 finalist at Miss Universe, while her predecessor Natalie Glebova won Miss Universe.  Who can forget the amazing Ariadna Gutierrez who almost won the crown last year, the very next year her cousin Paulina Vega won Miss Universe.  Last year the pageant crazy country Philippines rejoiced the victory of their queen Pia Wurtzbach and as per the trend, this year the batch of their national pageant, Binibining Pilipinas 2016 is exceptionally strong.  Philippines is known for sending highly groomed girls.  Don’t be surprised if they get a back-to-back win this year at Miss Universe!

While there is a lot of time before the finals, there are two girls who are creating a buzz among fans and are often touted as the two lead front-runners.  They are Kim Ross delos Santos and Kylie Verzosa.  Kim Ross delos Santos is 26 and 5’11” from Pasay city, Metro Manila.  Years ago in 2005, she won Elite Model Look Search Philippines and went on to represent the country internationally.  She is tall, lean, modelesque, very sexy and highly glamorous.  Kylie Verzosa is 24, 5’8″ and from Baguio city.  She was Top 15 finalist at Binibining Pilipinas 2015.  Her main strength is her gorgeous face and higly feminine look.  Both – Kim and Kylie – can be fabulous representatives for Philippines at Miss Universe.
