First Look: Aishwarya Rai as Dalbir Kaur in ‘Sarbjit’ [Pictures]

Aishwarya Rai is playing the role of Dalbir Kaur in film ‘Sarbjit’ by Omung Kumar.  The film is based on the life of Sarbjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted by Pakistan as a terrorist and sentenced to death.  Later he was killed in jail by inmates.  The role of Sarbjit Singh is played by Randeep Hooda.  Richa Chadhdha plays his wife and Aishwarya Rai plays his sister.

The film has been in news since the project was conceived.  The story of the film is gripping and made headlines in the country.  Aishwarya Rai is in Punjab for the shooting of the film, which is slated for release in May this year.  The released still shows Aishwarya Rai sitting on a desk and looking lost.  She is having minimal make-up and is wearing a salwar kameez.  Even in the deglam look, Aishwarya looks very beautiful, and much younger than her age.  The film’s protagonist Randeep Hooda was recently in buzz for losing 18 kg weight in few weeks for the film.

Sarbjit will be Aishwarya’s second film after her sabbatical from Bollywood due to birth of daughter Aradhya.  The first film was Jazbaa which received a lot of critical acclaim but failed miserably at the box office.
