Wang Hyun crowned Miss World Korea 2015
Wang Hyun was crowned as the winner of Miss World Korea 2015. She will now represent Korea in Miss World 2016 contest. She succeeds Jung Eun-ju who is right now competing at Miss World 2015 in Sanya China for the crown. Wang Hyun is 20-years-old and hails originally from United States. She was also crowned as Miss Korea USA last year.At the same event, Kim Jenny was crowned as the first runner-up.
Wang Hyun said she had not expected to win the crown. “I’m thankful for this huge title and will do my best to spread the beauty of Korea from now on,” she said. When asked about her motivational force to join Miss World Korea, she replied that it was her father who encouraged her to join the pageant and also took an extreme care of her schedule. She doesn’t aspire to become a celebrity, but rather she wishes to focus on her studies. “My current dream or goal is not to become a celebrity. My major is art, so I’d like to find work doing art and design,” she said.
Korea has never won the crown of Miss World. However, they have had a decent track record in finale with multiple placements and awards. They came close to winning in 1988 when Choi Yeon-hee was declared as 1st runner-up. in 2009, Kim Joo-ri was declared as Queen of Asia and Oceania. in 2011, Kyung-min Doe also made it to Top 7 finalists of Miss World. Next year, Wang Hyun will try grabbing the title of Miss World first time for her country. We feel she does have a good potential. Do you think she has potential to do that?
