Anna Verhelska wins Miss Universe Ukraine 2015 [Result]
Anna Verhelska defeated thirteen other contestants to bag the crown of Miss Universe Ukraine 2015. Anna will now go on to represent Ukraine at the 64th edition of Miss Universe 2015 which will be held on 20th December 2015 in unnamed American city. Anna was crowned by Miss Universe 2014 Second Runner Up: Diana Harkusha and Anna Andreas Miss Universe Ukraine 2014 (resigned). This year’s ceremony wasn’t broadcast live on TV or live streamed on the internet considering the current political situation in and around Ukraine.The results were declared on the official social media pages of the organization. The contestants were narrowed down from Top 14 to top 6 Valeria Anna Vergelska ,Katerina,Mayila,Panchenko, Natalia Varchenko, Olesia Pravnyk and Yana Brylytska.
Ukraine debuted at Miss Universe in 1995 where Irina Chernomaz failed to make the first cut. Oleksandra Nikolayenko, Miss Ukraine 2001 and Miss Universe Ukraine 2004 holds the franchise of Miss Universe Ukraine since 2006. Oleksandra was a front-runner at Miss Universe 2004 pageant but she failed to make the first cut. Donald Trump, the then owner of Miss Universe Pageant, invited her to judge the Miss Universe 2005 pageant. Next year, she was awarded the franchise of Miss Universe Ukraine. Under Oleksandra Nikolayenko, Ukraine has bagged six placements including first runner-up at Miss Universe 2011 with the courtesy of the stunning Olesya Stefanko, Diana Harkusha who was appointed as Miss Universe Ukraine 2014, after the original winner Ana Andres resigned, bagged second runner-up at Miss Universe 2014. The stunning Anna Poslavska was crowned as third runner-up at Miss Universe 2010. Since 2010 Ukraine has missed only one placement that was in 2012.
Before 2006 the runner-up at Miss Ukraine use to represent Ukraine at Miss Universe but since Oleksandra took over a separate pageant was created Inna Tsymbalyuk was crowned as first ever Miss Universe Ukraine in 2006 who was in top 20 of Miss Universe Pageant. Inna is the first Ukrainian to place in semi finals of Miss Universe pageant.
